Reading Group: Climate Change and Capitalism

Jun 1, 2019 2:00 - 4:00 pm - Members of the Industrial Workers of the World in Sarasota will be hosting a reading group to discuss this important matter and what we can do about it. Please join us in the conference room of the Selby Library on Saturday, June 1st at 2pm.

Film Screening: "Norma Rae"

Apr 2, 2019 6:30 pm - Join us for a screening of the famous labor film Norma Rae on the 40th anniversary of its release. Based on a true story and starring Sally Field, the movie depicts a union organizing campaign at a textile factory in North Carolina. Doors will open at 5:45 pm and the movie will start at 6:30 pm, with discussion following. This event is free and open to the public, though donations of $5 to go towards organizing efforts will be greatly appreciated.
